Ingredients

  • 1 package 14.1 ounces refrigerated pizza dough or crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni or chopped regular pepperoni
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter for brushing
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing the waffle iron
  • Optional: Additional toppings such as bell peppers onions, mushrooms, sausage, ham, or bacon

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or oil to prevent the dough from sticking.
  2. Step 2: If using refrigerated pizza dough, unroll it on a lightly floured surface. If using crescent roll dough, separate the triangles and gently press them together to form larger rectangles.
  3. Step 3: Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the dough into even rectangles, approximately the size of your waffle iron sections. You'll need two rectangles for each Pizza Stuffed Waffle Snack.
  4. Step 4: In a small bowl, combine the pizza sauce and Italian seasoning. Stir well to blend the flavors.
  5. Step 5: Prepare your toppings. If using regular pepperoni, chop it into smaller pieces. If using additional toppings like bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms, dice them into small, bite-sized pieces.
